Vicky Colbert

Vicky Colbert is the founder and director of Fundación Escuela Nueva an NGO she founded to ensure quality, sustainability and innovation in education. 

Colbert has served as the First National Coordinator in the Ministry of Education, Director of Open and Distance University for Javeriana University, and Vice Minister of Education of Colombia. She is also UNICEF’s Education Adviser for the Latin America and the Caribbean Region. 

Colbert is a Laureate of the first edition of the Yidan Prize for Education Development (2017) and WISE Prize for Education (2013).   In 2015, the American University of Nigeria distinguished her with an Honoris Causa Doctorate in Philosophy. Colbert has been recognized with awards in the fields of leadership and social entrepreneurship, such as the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, the Clinton Global Citizenship Award, the Kravis Leadership Prize, the Schwab Foundation at the World Economic Forum, Ashoka and the World Technology Network, among others.
