UoPeople Launches World’s First Tuition-Free Online Master’s Degree in Information Technology
The new MSIT program will help students develop marketable technical, creative and managerial skills
PASADENA, CA (February 1, 2022) – To help advance the careers of working professionals in the rapidly growing high-tech industry, University of the People (UoPeople) announced today it is launching the world’s first tuition-free, 100% online Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) degree program.
The new MSIT program will help students develop marketable technical, creative and managerial skills. Students will learn to apply principles of information technology and computer science to complex business problems, bridging the gap between technology departments and management.
The program was developed by UoPeople’s Computer Science and Business Administration Advisory Boards. These boards are comprised of distinguished industry professionals and scholars who work to maintain a high level of academic quality in the department’s academic programs. The boards include members from Harvard University, New York University, Wharton, INSEAD, Carnegie Mellon University, Facebook, and Yale University to name a few.
“University of the People develops academic degree programs that are in high demand by corporations and other large organizations which is particularly important for students from underserved communities around the world,” said UoPeople President Shai Reshef. “The new tuition-free online master’s degree in information technology will help graduates advance their careers. The MSIT program is the latest addition to UoPeople’s high-quality undergraduate, graduate and certificate program offerings in business administration, computer science, education and health science.
UoPeople is the first non-profit, tuition-free, American, accredited online university and currently enrolls more than 117,000 students from over 200 countries and territories. The university does not charge any tuition or enrollment fees and all course materials are available online for free. UoPeople does charge a nominal assessment fee of $300 at the end of each MSIT course. The total cost for completing the MSIT degree at UoPeople is $3,600. Like its other degree programs, UoPeople’s MSIT program will cost students 90% less than similar programs.
