UoPeople Student Experience Survey 2021

The 2021 UoPeople Student Experience Survey results are in – and we are excited to share the feedback. This survey is unique because it focuses on what it’s like to be an online student at UoPeople and takes an in-depth look at how our students feel about their learning experience. 

Nearly 9,000 students responded to our survey to let their voices be heard. So let’s dive into the results!

A Diverse Global Student Body 

Because UoPeople is 100% online, our student body is extremely diverse and comes from all over the globe to learn and earn a degree. In fact, UoPeople students come from more than 200 countries and territories, making a culture of inclusion and respect extremely important to the University.

Are you comfortable voicing your ideas and opinions, even if they are different from others? 

One of the main reasons students love studying at UoPeople is that 91% feel that their opinions and ideas are valued and respected, even when they are different from someone else’s. Our diverse student body appreciates learning from each other, and in sharing their experiences they gain a new perspective and way of thinking.

Do you feel that you are treated respectfully at UoPeople?

We believe that differences should be celebrated and appreciated. Students should feel confident and comfortable while studying, or networking with peers. That’s why we are pleased to hear that 95% of our students feel that they are treated with respect at UoPeople.  

How Our Students Feel About UoPeople 

We want to ensure our students have the best academic experience possible, which is why we provide them with support every step of the way. Dedicated Program Advisors offer guidance from the first day of class through to graduation.

The instructors at UoPeople are brilliant academics and professionals who are there to help students master the material. From the quality of the education, to the sense of personal accomplishment our students feel when they complete a course, there are so many reasons the UoPeople experience is a special one. 

In general, have you enjoyed studying at UoPeople?

 An impressive 91% of students answered that they are satisfied with their experience at UoPeople. Some of the main reasons why students say they’re satisfied: the amazing personalized attention from instructors, one-on-one support from their program advisors, and the feeling of being truly challenged by their assignments. 

Are you proud to study at UoPeople?

89% of students responded that they are proud to study with us. UoPeople strives to do everything possible to ensure our students are successful in their academic programs by providing them with the guidance and support they need. Earning a degree at UoPeople takes hard work, courses are satisfyingly challenging and our instructors come from the most prestigious colleges around the world. 

Career Goals 

We understand the importance of helping our students meet their career goals. That’s why our Academic Advisory Boards help guide our curriculum so that it’s directly connected to their industry. Our Career Service Center offers students guidance and valuable tools including resume building, interview tips, job searching techniques, and career planning. Do you have a better understanding of your career goals because of UoPeople? 

85% of our students feel more confident in their career goals after studying with us. Once it’s time for them to make a career move, the UoPeople Career Service Center will be there to support them with career development and planning. 

Do you think the skills and knowledge you have acquired at UoPeople are relevant for your career?

When you study at UoPeople, it’s not just about learning theory–but practical skills you’ll use at work every day. We’re proud to hear that 91% of our students say that they have acquired skills and knowledge relevant to their career goals.

Earning your degree is a major accomplishment, a successful college career requires years of hard work, and you can’t expect to be a success without devotion and commitment. Our students have demonstrated that they have what it takes to succeed.

Has learning at UoPeople given you a sense of accomplishment?  

95% of students at UoPeople feel a sense of personal accomplishment. We believe that everyone is capable of earning a degree–but it takes dedication, and our students are rightfully proud! 

What Makes UoPeople Different

Are instructors at UoPeople helpful and supportive? 

89% of our students say their instructors have been helpful and supportive. The impressive academic leadership at UoPeople come from world-renowned institutions like NYU, University of Edinburgh, Columbia, Princeton and International Baccalaureate. They make sure our academic programs are always rigorous and challenging.

Does the UoPeople portal support your needs?

As a 100% online university, UoPeople uses technology to make student’s lives easier – and our students obviously feel that it’s working. 91% of our students feel that the UoPeople Portal supports their academic needs.  

Are course materials easily accessible? 

Here at UoPeople we don’t make our students buy expensive textbooks–but of course, our classes do have materials. These Open Educational Resources are available for free online. We are pleased to hear that 89% of students at UoPeople feel that course materials and information are easily assessible.
