Passion for Learning and Support from UoPeople Made Syeda’s Back-to-School Journey Smooth

Syeda is back-to-school with UoPeople

Syeda B., Business Administration, Pakistan

Living in Pakistan where she faces regular challenges like load-shedding and inconsistent internet connectivity, Syeda B. has chosen to stay determined and complete her education. After losing her job during the COVID-19 pandemic, she realized how essential it is to advance her education to stay competitive in the current job market. She is currently earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) at UoPeople after a study gap of several years. She prides herself on being a mature learner at the university and is thankful for the opportunity to restart her academic journey with us. “It’s truly a dream come true. Returning to my studies after so long was daunting, but the support from my university and my passion for learning kept me going,” she says.

UoPeople’s tuition-free flexible educational model has been a life-changer for her. “Without it, affording my studies would have been impossible,” she adds. Since Syeda values learning, she has dedicated herself fully to staying ahead academically. She has managed to earn a place on the Dean’s List at the university, which is a reflection of her commitment to academic excellence. “I continue to work hard each day to maintain a high CGPA. I am determined to make the most of this opportunity,” she says with great enthusiasm.
How does Syeda manage to earn her degree while juggling her professional and personal roles? “I balance my studies with significant familial responsibilities, including caring for my elderly mother and supporting my younger siblings. Managing a heavy course load while tackling challenging subjects has strengthened my resilience and shown me what I’m capable of achieving, even under limited circumstances. The university’s flexible online platform has made it easier for me to balance family responsibilities and studies, and I’m grateful for that support,” she explains.

She is earning her degree to secure a role in the finance field, and one day hopes to start her own consulting business. “The skills and knowledge I’m gaining through this academic journey have already opened new opportunities and possibilities for my future,” she says excitedly.

In her free time, she likes to unwind with family and friends and enjoys sharing her knowledge with others. “Everything I learn, I try to pass on to help those around me. One of the most rewarding moments was seeing a student I mentored to achieve their highest grades—it reminded me of the importance of giving back. So far, I have guided many younger students in their academic journeys, tutoring them online to achieve their own highest grades. I am passionate about giving back, and I do all of this voluntarily,” she shares.

We are truly impressed by Syeda’s zeal for transforming her life and giving back to the community. As a university with a mission to provide educational access to learners far and wide, we feel successful by supporting her dreams.
