Tatyana is Earning a Business Degree to Live Her Entrepreneurial Dreams
Tatyana V.,Business Administration, Russia
Tatyana’s early life was marked by a series of moves. Born in the USA, her family then immigrated to Canada. In 2012, her family relocated to Russia, where she currently lives.
“I can say that I have had quite the international educational experience, thanks to my family’s adventurous spirit. Studying in different countries allowed me to learn three different languages. I am well versed in English, French, and Russian,” she adds with a sense of pride and confidence.
Despite her rich educational experience, as a child, Tatyana never thought she would attend university.
“My parents always supported me and financed my interests and education, but I knew that they weren’t willing to go into crazy amounts of debt for it. Therefore, my first education as a classical painter was financed through a Russian government scholarship. I enjoyed being able to study classical art but at best, it could be considered a 4-year hobby with no practical implementation,” she laughs.
Tatyana has always had a strong inclination towards business, inspired by her own family’s achievements.
“I can strongly say that my passion is entrepreneurship. I always wanted to be as successful as my father. I have always wanted to take it up as a challenge and show everyone that I can build a successful business. That’s exactly why I decided to earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration from UoPeople,” she adds.
At only 18 years old, she started her own small business called ‘NATIVE,’ which is a private language school. Now, almost five years later, she is continuing to grow this business as she completes her studies at UoPeople.
“I’m using the knowledge I get to develop my small language school. Currently, we are a team of just five people, and we only teach English online and offline in individual and group formats. But in the future, we hope to expand to teaching courses in Chinese, Spanish, French, and other languages, as well as provide specialized courses within each such as exam preparation classes, business English, etc. I’m grateful to UoPeople for shaping my understanding of what I have to do next to make my business succeed.” she adds.
Tatyana loves that her parents don’t have to go into debt to finance her education at UoPeople. She also values the fact that her degree is American-accredited.
“If I ever come back to the US, I can be sure that I will be able to use my education and that it will be recognized. I am receiving a strong fundamental education in business, which will help me grow any business I want,” she adds with a bright smile on her face.
With UoPeople, Tatyana manages to juggle her studies with a part-time job and other family responsibilities.
“Being a married working student can be challenging at times, but I like to stay positive and face things one day at a time. Also, I am super excited to see where life is taking me. UoPeople lets me study whenever and wherever I want. I get to choose my workload and pace. I don’t feel as if the university is taking over my life. I’m totally in charge and loving every bit of this experience,” she says.
When not busy building her business or studying, she likes to dream with her husband—and plan for a fulfilling future.
“We want to build our successful businesses together and live on a farm with plenty of geese. I also love to grow my social media and connect with people around me. I like to see the beauty in everything around me, to learn from people’s life stories, and to build my novel of memories. Life feels amazing now, and I am very thankful for everything,” she says.
Tatyana’s vision is to build a strong business, which will support her family and community. “I hope to finish UoPeople with Honors and mentor other up-and-coming entrepreneurs,” she adds with great enthusiasm.
Tatyana’s life story is truly inspirational, and we cannot wait to see how it unfolds. We wish her all the best for all her dreams and aspirations.
