Madjda K. grew up in a nurturing environment where education was highly valued. Her mother was a French language teacher in a middle school and father a petroleum engineer. “From the very start my parents emphasized the importance of education and encouraged me to excel. I’ve always earned excellent grades and tried my hardest to make my parents very proud. I know they secretly desire for me to pursue doctoral studies in the future and would love it if I became a professor at a prestigious university,” she says with a bright confident smile.

Madjda has big dreams, and wants to be an example for other women in her country. Her favorite topic? Computers. “I’ve always wondered how a computer can do so many things simultaneously. This curiosity is what pushed me to earn a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at University of the People. I love learning in such a diverse environment,” she shared.

“Computer science graduates are in high demand worldwide. I am confident this degree will open doors for me. Realistically, our world lives on data,” she told us with a laugh.

How did Madjda find out about UoPeople? “I watched some ads on Facebook and Youtube about University of the People. At first, I didn’t know if it was a real, accredited university. So, I decided to show my best friend. We did our research then applied together and went on this academic adventure.”

What was different about UoPeople? “I chose University of the People because it is flexible, affordable, and empowering. You can even build your own weekly study schedule to fit your lifestyle! I love the flexibility. My experience with the UoPeople has been fantastic,” Madjda told us excitedly.

Madjda told us that there are so many highlights to her experience at UoPeople. “I really enjoy getting to know students from all over the world. Another important aspect is the variety of classes, interesting topics and the outstanding instructors who are there to support you,” she adds.

Right now Madjda is devoting most of her time to her studies but she has big dreams for her future. “My field of interest is in AI engineering. I have experience in Marketing and Digital Design, but I would really like to become an AI Engineer and earn a Ph.D. in Information Technology,” she says excitedly.

Madjda wanted to leave us with one important piece of advice, “Don’t limit yourself. Keep striving for better opportunities, it is never too late to make your dreams come true.”
